Live Nourished Today was founded on the simple yet radical idea that people can establish and maintain a healthy relationship with food and eating despite the onslaught of toxic messaging we constantly receive through society and culture. Our work seeks to deprogram years of conflicting messaging that often leads to shame, fear, and insecurity surrounding food choices and wellbeing. We help clients to restructure their negative perceptions of food by dismantling the use of harmful value judgments, creating clear nutritional guidelines based on personal needs, and ultimately, acknowledging that health and wellness come in various shapes and sizes.

In the United States alone, billions of dollars are spent each year on diet and diet culture advertising. Supplemented by constant bombardments of food advertising, it comes as no surprise that many people have skewed relationships and perceptions of nutrition and how it functions in daily life. Furthermore, attitudes regarding food are often established in an individual’s formative years when parents and guardians may unintentionally reinforce harmful narratives about food. Thus, from a young age, many people grow up labelling food as either “good” or “bad”. This sort of categorization is dangerous in itself, and something I aim to avoid entirely at Live Nourished Today.
Unfortunately, dieting that is restrictive and extreme in nature is usually hailed as a plausible solution for people looking to quickly change or alter their physical appearance. However, not only does research show that crash diets are largely ineffective, but they also fail to address any underlying issues that may contribute to the individual’s difficult relationship with food. As a result, my practice exists to help those I serve achieve continuous peace and satisfaction regarding their daily intake and interactions with food. Rather than focus on vanity and appearance, I focus on helping clients cultivate their sense of holistic wellness.
